Open Call for (Wink)
Open call submissions for wink: a sexy show at Wayward Arts.
This will be a pretty open-ended, sex positive show. WA's first sexy show will be light and playful, humorous and/or titillating, with the intention that in the future that we can do some deeper dives on more complex issues surrounding human sexuality. All body types, genders, sexual identities, skin colors, and cultural backgrounds are welcome, as are all consensual forms of sexual pleasure. Nudity is approved!
Paintings, photography, framed prints of original works including digital artwork, collage, sculpture, textiles including costumes and fiber arts. Video is possible, if you've got the equipment for projection. Live performances, workshops and discussions will be considered for followup dates - send us your ideas! Works to be hung on the main walls of the gallery are required to be wired to work with our gallery hanging system.
The side gallery will be open for sales of prints, individually sleeved and priced. There will be some limited wall space available in the side gallery for smaller framed pieces that are too small to wire.
Deadline for submission: 4/1/24
Drop off dates (will be confirmed upon acceptance): 4/4 - 4/7
Opening Reception: 4/13, 6-10pm
Show Run: 4/13 - 5/25
Volunteers are needed and greatly appreciated! Before, during, & afterwards. If you're available, please send a separate email to gallery@wayward.art with the subject, "I want to help!" with your contact information.
Wayward Arts is currently accepting art submissions for 2024. Subjects of interest, but not limited to, are:
Dwelling Spaces
Circle of Life from birth, growth, death and decay
Figurative works for our annual participation in the Ravenswood Art Walk
Small works for our year end holiday show and market
Original works, and newly created, one of a kind, never shown pieces will have priority. For consideration, please submit a quality digital image, title, medium, dimensions, suggested price and contact information including social media profiles. Note: the gallery to artist consignment is 50/50. If work has yet to be created, send a description of concept, and examples of related work.
Curators are welcome to submit show concepts, and we’re open to renting the gallery space for you to produce your own show or event.
